Blade writer/director David S. Goyer was inspired by shows like The Sopranos and Wiseguy when he imagined Blade: The Series. His idea was to create a world with 12 separate vampire houses, in which various characters were continually at odds with each other in their diverse attempts at taking or maintaining control over the vampire underworld.
